Weekend in Pictures

Wow what a busy weekend we had. (Just a warning this is a picture heavy post.) Friday was my flex day so I spent the day creating a flower bed around our patio. I couldn't be happier with the results.

When Michael found out that I was putting in a garden out back he came up with the brilliant idea of having a rain barrel. He went on to CraigsList on Friday and found a guy selling used food barrels. He came home Friday night and put it together. I didn't get any pictures because it was getting dark and I had to hold the flash light, but I did get some cool pictures of the moon.

Here it is the day light. Not the most attractive thing, but it works great!

Saturday was a pretty quiet day. We finally got pictures hung in the basement.

The pool table we're getting from Michael's boss until their new house is built is going here next Friday.

For dinner Michael made homemade pizza. It was delicious and I'll definitely be asking him to make it again,

even if he did make a mess out of my kitchen.

Sunday we did some shopping, laid some grass seed and generally just hung out.

And just because this is my blog and I can, here are some pictures of the pups.

The blog will probably be quiet this week. Michael and I are going to home to PA. Michael's dad is having triple bypass surgery on Wednesday. Please keep him and the rest of the family in your prayers.

Earth Day

In honor of Earth Day, I found these pictures this morning capturing the wonder of our planet. It always amazes me at how breathtaking some of these pictures can be.

Living Room

So after the guest room was sort of finished I turned by attention to the living room. I started by decorating the mantel.

I bought a new mirror, made some simple topiaries and added iron fleur-de-lis I picked up at an antique store with mom last year.

We moved the couch to open the living room up more and I pulled the buffet out of the dining room and moved the dining table in the other direction. It makes a huge difference!

Finally we hung some classic house prints.

Can't wait to hear what everyone thinks!

Major Changes Finally Happening!!

With Easter out of the way and the housewarming party looming...the major decorating has finally begun! Hallelujah, it's about time. I started off with the guest room and have slowly moved upstairs. So lets start downstairs.

I was at Homegoods and found these awesome wall stickers. For $10 you couldn't beat the price for easy  decorating.

The project didn't take long to complete. Here it is half way done.

And ten minutes later the whole wall was complete.

Here is the rest of the guest room. I think it's a pretty soothing space, I hope our guests will agree.

Happenings around the House

Before I take down all of the Easter decorations, I figured I should take some pictures.

Nothing too exciting in the house, but outside our fruit trees are blooming like crazy and giving us the best show!
